2012 Version 2.0 Gloom, Despair, Agony on me!

Okay, folks.  Time to get serious.  Stop the mocking and wake up.  This is not a fear message, and if you think it is, then stop reading and get the heck out.  I don't want to deal with you.  I'm done dealing with mockers and people who don't have the sense to actually listen to what people are saying. I don't even care if you think I sound like one of those lunatics who think we all need bunkers.  I'm not that, but I don't care if you think I am.

I need to tell you this, and I'm going to. If you are in the position God wants you to be in, then you are on the right track and have absolutely nothing to fear.  You just need to be sure you're on that track.  There is still some time to prepare, but that window is closing fast.  If you've been procrastinating, now is the time to stop and get serious.  How should you prepare?  I urge you to get on your knees and ask God about that.  I don't know what your particular situation is - everyone's is different.  Your position in life is unique, your calling is unique.  God has specific plans for YOU.  But there are a few things that you and everyone else should be doing, and you need to be doing them now.  Get started if you haven't already.

Get your house in order, and by "house" I mean "Get your life, your priorities, your FAMILY (as much as is in your power/authority to do), your finances - EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE GET IT IN ORDER NOW.  Line it up with God's Word and don't look back.  GET YOUR BUDGET IN ORDER NOW.  Don't invest in gold - well naturally you can if you want, but you'd be far better off investing in food and .22s.  Don't waste your money on expensive freeze dried stuff.  Get canned and dried foods.  They have an expiration date, and you should always check a product before eating it, but unless there's damage to the can, it's actually edible for a very, very long time.  The quality and nutrition goes down, but it's still edible.  If you have property, excellent.  If you have neighbors, do your best to make friends with them, or connect with like-minded people.  You may be sharing a garden some day.

Use your head.  In my last post 2012, I posted the Words of Jesus.  Let me reiterate them now. "Streetwise people are smarter in this regard than law-abiding citizens. They are on constant alert, looking for angles, surviving by their wits. I want you to be smart in the same way—but for what is right—using every adversity to stimulate you to creative survival, to concentrate your attention on the bare essentials, so you'll live, really live, and not complacently just get by on good behavior."

Matthew 10:16 (MSG) "Stay alert. . . Be as cunning as a snake, inoffensive as a dove."  Be smart, People.  Don't be fixated on material possessions - don't get into debt to have unnecessary things.  Let me spell it out for you.  If you don't have the money to have both a cell phone and food - choose the food.  That's the priority.   Here are the priorities.  No, really.  THESE are the priorities:

  1. Air - you can't live without breathing
  2. Water - you can't live without water
  3. Food - you can't live without food
  4. Shelter - your chances of living are slim without some form of shelter
  5. Clothing - unless you live in a tropical climate or nudist colony, you need clothing.
Got it?  THESE are what we call "priorities".  After you have these taken care of then you work on number 6:

     6.  Relationships - you were made for loving relationships.  That makes love and relationships a necessity.

Still with me?  You take care of these things first, then you worry about the extras, and you make sure you have plenty of the food, water and clothing before the other stuff. Remember, you're supposed to be the ones ministering to others in need - not the ones begging, and if you don't think we're ever going to experience a shortage on some of these things, you just let me know how that works out for you in a few years (if not before) because when you run out, don't come crying to me because I'm going to be a wise virgin (look that up if you don't know what it means), or at least I'm going to make you eat megga crow before giving you a package of Ramen noodles.

If you don't have enough money to make it on your own, then please swallow your pride and find others in your position and put your brains (and maybe households) together and get it figured out.

So let's do a recap:

  1. Read your Bible and pray.
  2. Listen to what God has to say.
  3. Put into action what He says, this will ensure your life is in order in the days ahead.
  4. Use common sense.  It may not be so common these days, but use it and you'll be okay.
And remember: avoid false teaching.  If it's a gospel that only works in the west, but not in a starving village in Africa, then it's not the Gospel.  Reject that false gospel and return/stick to the Truth.  Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  Remember that.
